Floral Dress....

8.29.2016

Dress: Lush (Exact Dress Sold Out) Heels: DSW
Bag: Vince Camuto Bralette: Aerie

A couple of months back I saw this dress at VonMaur and I didn't buy it because I felt like it wasn't really my style.  If you haven't noticed I don't really like bright colors or much color at all for that matter (oops!) BUT, when I was out looking for a dress for something I was going to, I decided that maybe I should just try it on. I was feeling a little desperate to find something on a short time frame.  Turns out I was completely wrong, I absolutely loved this dress!

The pattern is a little crazy but I love the back details.  I've always been scared to do anything low back or crazy in the back because it always poses the question, what bra do you wear? I tried this one on with an Aerie Bralette and it was perfect and didn't seem to take away from the back detail.  I also loved the length.  I have such an issue with dresses that are too short but the length on this was just perfect for so many occasions.

I paired this with neutral heels and a great cross body, which helped me to feel like the dress could be made to fit my style.  If you are a little crazier with color then I would recommend a fun heel or a colored bag!

Hope you all enjoyed this outfit & as always if you don't already, follow me on Instagram @clothewithloveblog to see updates on when I post!

Love Always,
M

Transitioning any Dress for Fall...

8.22.2016

Dress: Nordstroms Cardigan: Nordstroms
Booties: Toms Purse: Vince Camuto
Hat: Target

When it comes to fall I always look into my wardrobe and feel like I need to buy a million more clothes because I want to be able to fit the season and the weather.  Recently I've learned how to transition a wardrobe and what pieces to buy that will allow you to make any outfit you already own fit fall.  Here are a few ways to make the transition:

A Bold Lip Color.  I find that putting on a red or berry colored lipstick allows me to feel extremely seasonal but also is super affordable.  One of my favorite higher end brands of lipstick is MAC, and if you're looking for a great fall color I would recommend the color "Syrup".   Recently at Target I found the new Collection of lipsticks that Katy Perry came out with and I picked up a red shade (I linked the exact one, definitely would recommend this!!) and let me tell you, it was also amazing & super long lasting.  Thats what I have on in these pictures!

A Hat.  I've never been a hat girl, but this year I'm more determined than ever to become one.  I love how fun they are and what it adds to any outfit.  That being said fun fact about me, I have a huge head.  When looking for a hat it was extremely hard to find one that fit but when I came across this one from Target that fit & was under $20 (they were having a sale, so definitely check your local Target), I was instantly sold!!

A Cardigan   This is probably the easiest thing to use to transition any outfit from Summer to Fall and winter because you probably already have this in your closet.  I love this long brown cardigan because I could wear it for anything and its super cozy.  When picking cardigans I always try to have a brown and black one that I can use throughout the whole fall and winter season.

If you can't tell I'm extremely excited for fall and all that the cooler weather brings! Hope you enjoyed this transitional outfit.  If you don't already, follow me on Instagram at @clothewithloveblog and you will see updates and tons of fun outfits!

What in the World is Business Casual?!

8.17.2016

Top: Loft Pants: Gap
Earrings: J Crew Factory (exact pair sold out)

As many of you know because I did a whole post back in May about it, a couple of months ago I started working a big girl job as an intern for a company in Columbus.  For the past 10 years of my life I've nannied and babysat families all over Columbus, which was so fun but eventually it was time to grow up a little.  I had the opportunity to get credit at Ohio State for the internship and it was was good experience to put on my resume.

When I was in the process of filling out paper work and preparing to start the internship I had a bunch of questions.  I was on the phone with one of the recruiters and he asked me, "Do you have any questions?".  Obviously my mind was screaming "Yes SOOOO many" but all I asked was, "What is the dress code of the office?"  Being that it was a man I was talking to he said that it was business casual and started to describe what he normally wears to work.  If you know anything about business clothes, most men wear similar clothing to work unless the dress code is casual so this really didn't give me much insight.

So like any normal person, I took to Google and searched "What are business casual clothes for women?"  Much to my surprise there wasn't much online and what there was consisted of frumpy clothing and outfits that as a 21 year old, I would never really consider wearing.  This made it super dificult because I had no idea what to wear, there wasn't much online and what there was didn't fit my style.  I wanted to obviously look professional but I also didn't want to compromise my style to dress for work.

That's what inspired this post and hopefully what I can continue to do at least once a month if not more.  My hope is to do a post at least once or twice a month showing you something I would wear to work maybe even using a clever title like "Work Wear Wednesdays" (haha I don't know)!!  I know it was super hard for me to find outfits that were cute and professional for a Business Casual office place and so maybe this will help those of you just starting to break into the Corporate world just like me!! Now lets get into the outfit...

So this outfit is something that I've worn to work many times over the past couple of months and if not this exact outfit, a similar combination.  These pants are from Gap and while they might look like your average black pants, they actually almost have a legging feel without being too tight that they would be inappropriate for an office.  In terms of top, I paired it with a silky blouse from Loft which has an adorable ruffle on the shoulders and a few cute buttons up the front.  I love it because it's simple and feminine but looks cute when you have to pair it with a cardigan for warmth.  Okay now I'm going to be real with you, if you are in the market for a pair of classic heel to go with everything... THESE ARE THE HEELS! I can't say enough good things.  I read a bunch of reviews before buying and multiple said that they were kind of uncomfortable or the buckle would rub on your heel.  I'm here to tell you that I haven't had that experience, if anything I think they are extremely comfortable.  I love wearing these to the office because they go with everything and are super comfy for a full day of work!

In terms of accessories, I love wearing similar outfits to work and then picking a great bag or accessory to spice it up each time I wear that outfit.  For me I needed a great bag that I could use to transport papers and other things I need since my job involves running errands for the events we've planned.  This Kate Spade bag is perfect for just that and it even has tassels which I've quickly fallen in love with recently.  My earrings are also a go to but my exact pair is older but I will link a bunch of cute pairs in the widget below.

I hope you loved this post and it gave you a small insight into the world of Business Casual clothing. If you don't already follow me on my Instagram account @clothewithloveblog for updates on when I put up new posts! Hope you have an amazing day!!

Anthropologie Peplum Tee

8.15.2016

Tee: Anthropologie Jeans: Madewell
Bag: Vince Camuto Shoes: Toms
Necklace: Baublebar

This top, oh man the second I found it I knew that it needed a nice little space on the blog.  If you know me you know that I'm queen of loose and flowy, as well as peplum for practically my whole life.  For some reason Anthropologie always has incredible shirts like this and so when I saw this on sale in-store I knew that I needed it.  I love how this is acid wash, it adds such a fun touch to a basic tee.  I also really liked the asymmetrical bottom!  If you are wondering for sizing, I got my normal size because I didn't want it to be too tight in the shoulders otherwise I definitely could have sized down.

This past weekend was amazing and so incredibly relaxing.  On Saturday, Conner & I got up extremely early to shoot a bunch of pictures for the blog before the sun came up! (So get excited because there will be lots of good stuff coming your way)  It felt good to do something creative and work on my blog which has felt a little neglected recently due to the craziness of life.  Then the rest of the day was spent grocery shopping and cooking dinner for my family using a bunch of Pinterest recipes that I've been wanting to try.  I never cook that much because living on campus doesn't really make it easy, but surprising Conner is a great cook when you get him in the kitchen.  Feel free to leave me a comment with good Pinterest recipes if there is something too good not to share, I would love to check it out :)

Hoping that you all enjoyed this post and this adorable peplum tee.  If you want to pick it up there is currently 25% off sale in-stores so I would go get it soon.  I don't think the same applies online.

Make sure that if you aren't already, you follow me on Instgram at @clothewithloveblog and stay tuned because I might put up a second post this week.

Love Always,
M

If you're like me before fall even hits you're scouting out new pieces to spice up your already existing wardrobe.  I don't know what it is but by the end of summer/back to school time a switch just flips in me and I instantly want the chillier weather.  I was extremely excited about the Nordstrom's sale so I saved up my money and anxiously waited for it to come.  I always have luck finding staple pieces (such as boots, sweaters, jackets) but with incredible prices, the time to stock up is now.  I've compiled a bunch of outfits that I'm super excited to rock in the fall.  Plus I can't wait to play around and mix in some transitional pieces.

Underneath the pictures I either linked the exact item or something similar.  Keep in mind the goal was to mix new pieces in with my existing wardrobe so some pieces are old but I will link newer options.  Also as always with such a large sale, things sell out so if something is sold out I will find something similar.  Hope you enjoy this post, I had a bunch of fun putting it together! This was definitely my favorite post thus far.  Happy Shopping :)

Love Always,
M
